Committee Reports

Dynamite Shoot: No report, however there was $187.00 turned in to the club treasury.

Lee Boren wants a letter of thanks from the OMGC for the explosives (1/2 case) used during this event. Dean Blanck will write a letter and send it to Lee.

High Power: Jeff Howard reports on the July 9th match. There were ten shooters and Jeff turned $20.00 over to madam treasurer.

Schuetzen: Pat Weber reports that there were six shooters. $12.00 was turned over to the club. For a complete rundown of the income and expenses for the schuetzen match see the July treasurers report.

Old Business

Tom Matthews: Due to the property valuation the tax due on the Orchard Mesa Gun Club properties will no doubt increase considerably. If Tom cannot (knock some sense) get the Mesa County Assessor to reduce our valuation, there will need to be an increase in dues. Tom figures that the dues will need to go up by about $10.00 per person.

Tom is still in negotiations with the developer that owns the land directly north of our range. These talks are necessary in order to decide what safety consideration will have to be made by the club, in order for said developer to develop.

New Business

Jeff Howard: Jeff announced that he had noticed that there was a parcel of land next to our 40 acre parcel that is for sale. Tom Matthews noted that he was aware of this. Lee Boren is an acquaintance of Jerald Reid, the current owner of that parcel. He is talking with Jerald on an informal basis about our acquisition of this land.

Lee Boren: Noted that the range needed to be cleaned up in order for the 4-H shooters that will be participating in the Mesa County Fair, which is coming up. The following people said that they would try and be at the range on Wednesday morning for clean up

Terry White Jim Dailey Russ Weber

Chuck Haigler Tom Matthews Al Chicon

Jeff Howard Terry White

Lee Boren will bring a truck and trailer.

Pat Weber will be shooting,

Adjournment

Jeff Howard made a motion to adjourn this months membership meeting

Terry White seconded that motion

There being no objections Irv Deines adjourned this meeting at 8:09 PM

Respectfully submitted
