ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
February 19, 2013
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Chuck Lopas. There were 15 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The minutes of the January 2013 members meeting were read by the Secretary and accepted as corrected.
TREASURERS REPORT: The treasurers report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded and passed to accept the report.
CORESPONDENCE: There was a letter to the Club regarding upcoming “Day of Resistance” at the old County Courthouse. A letter was also received from the County Sheriffs of Colorado and the Mesa County Sheriff regarding the proposed changes to gun laws in Colorado. This letter will be reviewed by the President.
OLD BUSINESS: The steel recycling businesses contacted cannot pick up steel. The President has the name of a person who will transport the Club’s scrap steel to a recycler and the value of the steel is greater than the cost of the transport. Weather has delayed the start of the remodeling of the club house. Barnes Electric has given us an estimate on the cost the electrical work, and a quote on the solar panels will be received soon. The remodeling must be completed by December 31, 2013.
NEW BUSINESS: There continues to be issues with club members not following posted range rules. Tom Mathews Chairman of the Board of Directors presented a proposed letter to be included with each member’s renewal and to all new members along with their badge. A sign is to be made and posted at the North pit detailing what firearms are allowed on that range. A club member has been using the range for commercial purposes. He has been told this must stop. KREX TV did a presentation on shooting at the range with several club officers. His production seemed fair and balanced. A Nosler club bullet order is going in soon. Members wishing to order bullets at these prices need to contact Jeff Howard soon with their order and money. The wood stove is no longer needed by the club and is for sale at $100.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 8:24PM by the President.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeff Howard Secretary
