ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
March 19, 2013
CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Chuck Lopas. There were 14 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the February Members Meeting were read by the Secretary and accepted as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: The Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded and passed to accept the Report.
CORESPONDENCE: A letter from Golden Recycling Organization was received concerning recycling of brass.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: The Schutzen match was canceled due to bad weather and mud. There were 29 members who signed up during the work day as well as a large number of 4H shooters and their parents and coaches. The inside walls of the Club House were striped to the studs, a large amount of trash was collected and the perimeter fence was inspected. A large volume of trash and old Celotex was taken to the Land Fill. The ceiling will be taken down at a later date with a small work party who will need to wear masks. The attendance sheet is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Battle Rifle Match will be held on April 12, 2013.
OLD BUSINESS: The Club was paid $1,148 for the scrap steel which was hauled away by a contractor payed by the Club. The Club has received one offer to purchase the wood stove. We have received 3 bids from Contractors for work to be done on the remodeling of the Club House. Two were for construction and one was for insulation. The Chairman of the Board of Directors presented a copy of a letter to a Club member who has been using the range for a commercial venture. It is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The club will keep track of all donations and volunteer labor performed during the Club House remodel to quantify the value of this in order to meet our obligation for the DOW grant. A clarification of Club policy defining who will be required to pay the $3.00 fee for matches and defining who a junior shooter is who would be exempt from this fee was presented. It was moved, seconded and passed to adopt this clarification. A copy is attached to and made a part of these minutes. Forms to document the amount of in kind labor are to be placed in the box in the Club House.
NEW BUSINESS: A club member has requested the use of club facilities to present a firearms training session for members of his Church. He would like to do this program on May 11, 2013. He would like the Club to wave the fee for the use of the range. This is not a concealed carry class. It was moved, seconded and passed to permit this. If a certificate is given to participants a $3.00 fee will be collected, if not it will be waved. There was discussion about the need to purchase more gravel for the roads and other areas on the ranges.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 8:12 PM by the President.
