ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING

August 18, 2015

CALL TO ORDER:  The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard.  There were 10 members present.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

MINUTES:  The Minutes of the July, 2015 Members Meeting were read by the Secretary and accepted as read.

TREASURERS REPORT:  The July, 2015 Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer.  It was moved, seconded and passed to approve the Report.  A copy is attached to a part of these minutes.

CORESPONDENCE:  An e-mail from Dick Severin, Hunter Outreach Coordinator for Colorado Parks and Wildlife, concerning the upcoming Range Day at the OMGC was received.  It is attached to and made a part of these minutes.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:  The August Hunter Benchrest Match had 3 shooters and $9.00 was turned in.

OLD BUSINESS:  There was continued discussion regarding the replacement target shed and air rifle range.  Mention was made about possible use of the Quonset hut for this.  The issue of concrete vs. dirt for the floor and the necessary size were also discussed.  The Board of Directors will meet to develop a proposal for the membership and determination of member interest.

NEW BUSINESS:  A member of the club recently requested to be allowed to shoot a pistol after dark for training purposes.  The Chairman of the Board of Directors allowed this to occur once.  This activity points to the fact that the Club has no formal shooting hours.  The general understanding has been dawn to dusk as the range is not lighted.  There was discussion on this matter and its possible effect on our neighbors, and safety issues.  As it stands now night shooting will only be permitted on a case by case basis with permission from the Chairman.

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the members, it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn.  The Meeting was adjourned at 8:41 PM by the President.

Respectfully submitted,

Jeff Howard, Secretary
