ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
October 20, 2015
CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard. There were 8 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the September Members Meeting were read by Art Bennett in the absence of the Secretary. These Minutes were accepted as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: The September, 2015 Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded and passed to accept the Report. A copy is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.
CORESPONDENCE: A letter from Wounded Warrior Project thanking the Club for the donation of $279.00 in memory of Chuck Lopas was read. It is attached to and made a part of these minutes. A letter to Chuck’s wife, Carol from Tom Mathews , Chairman of the Board of Directors to inform her of the donation is also attached to and made a part of these minutes. An e-mail from Kristina Teal, Mesa County 4H Shooting Sports Coordinator, requesting the use of the Club’s facilities for the 4H shooters in 2016 is attached to and made a part of these minutes.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: There were 5 shooters at the October Schutzen Match, and $15.00 was turned in to the Club. A report on the Public Sight in Days showed there was a total of 17 non Club participants, 2 of whom subsequently joined the Club.
OLD BUSINESS: Tom Mathews is still working on the proposal for the new target shed/air rifle range. The Club has received a quote for the spraying of vegetation killer to the North Range and road ways of $175.00. Art Bennett, Treasurer, will coordinate this project.
NEW BUSINESS: Due to the recent incidence of trespassing on Club property, it was suggested that additional signage be posted on our perimeter fences and also range rules to be posted at the north and south ranges, and the south pit range flag. Estimated cost for this was $1,000.00 for 16 signs. Following discussion it was moved, seconded and passed to do this. The Nominating Committee was appointed. Members are Eric Kjeldgaard, Tom Mathews, and Russ Weber. The drawing for the 3rd quarter gift certificate for Club members as won by Russ Weber, who won the 2nd quarter drawing, and graciously declined the certificate, and a second drawing was won by Bruce McBride.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members, it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 8:13 by the President.
