ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
December 15, 2015
CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard. There were 9 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the November, 2015 Members Meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: The Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded and passed to accept the report. A copy of the report is attached to and made a part of these minutes.
CORESPONDENCE: A Christmas Card was received from CAPCO. Information from the NRA regarding the pending dues increase, and discounted Life Membership offer was received. A letter from Dufford Waldeck Milburn & Krohn LLP informing the Club of the hourly rates for their attorneys was received. It is attached to and made a part of these minutes.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: The Audit Committee will meet in January 2016 and submit its report at the February 2016Members Meeting.
OLD BUSINESS: At the recent Pro Second Amendment Committee meeting it was learned it is required that anyone loaning a firearm to someone else for over 72 hours is required to get a background check prior to the transfer. This provision is hopefully going to be eliminated by the Legislature. The law on magazine capacity is not being enforced, and an appeal to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, is being perused. Approximately 20-25 people attended the Meeting. The spraying of parts of the range with weed killer has not been done due to miss communication with the person who was to apply it. This will be done in the spring prior to weed emergence. The floor was opened for nominations for the 4 Club Officer positions and none were forthcoming. The slate put forth by the Nominating Committee, consisting of the current officers was then elected by acclamation.
NEW BUSINESS: The Secretary presented a list of Life Members of the Club to see if anyone knew of any no longer in the community. No one knew of any Life Members who should be deleted. The annual meeting of the Board of Directors will be held at the Club House on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 7:00 PM. The meeting is open to any Club member wishing to attend.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Members the Meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM by the President.
