ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING

May 16, 2017

 

CALL TO ORDER:  The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard.  There were 8 members present.  The pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

MINUTES:  The Minutes of the April, 2017 Meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.

TREASURERS REPORT:  The Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer.  It was moved, seconded and passed to approve the Report.  A copy is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.

CORESPONDENCE:  Art Bennett presented a letter expressing his appreciation to the volunteers who helped with the Club's booth at the recent Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Outdoor Heritage Day.  A copy is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:  Hunter Bench Rest had 6 shooters and $18.00 was turned in.  High Power had 8 shooters and $24.00 was turned in. 

OLD BUSINESS:  The OMGC banner used at the Outdoor Heritage Day will be hung in the Club House.  More detailed preliminary bids for the new target shed were received from Madison Custom Builders for $39,077.00, for a 20'X40' shed, and Cleary Building Corp. for $26,647.00, for a 21'X40', shed.  Both are attached to and made a part of these Minutes.  It was moved, seconded and passed to try to schedule a representative from Cleary to attend the next Members Meeting to discuss their proposal and it's cost.  The NRA only funds range improvements to Clubs with 501c3 tax exempt status.  The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Shooting Range development Grant Program is in mid process and the next one will not start until November, 2017.  A copy of their Application Calendar is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.  The Secretary gave a report on the progress on the Code Enforcement Complaint regarding our neighbor to the southwest's property.  The Code Enforcement staff has viewed the property and agree it is noncompliant and have turned it over to the County Attorney.  There has been no further correspondence from Red Hawk Rifles.

NEW BUSINESS:  The next Work Day scheduled for May 20, 2017 was discussed.  The gongs need to be rehung in the tires, the bathrooms painted, and the North Range mowed and weeds controlled. 

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the members the Meeting was adjourned at 8:08PM by the President.
