ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
September 18, 2018
CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the Vice President Jon Kobylarz. There were 12 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the August Members Meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: The Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve the report. A copy of the report is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.
CORESPONDENCE: A letter from the NRA-ILA was received, thanking the Club for the $250.00 donation.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: There were 4 shooters at the September Hunter Benchrest Match and $12.00 was turned in. There were 8 shooters at the September High Power Match and $24.00 was turned in. There were 6 shooters at the September Schutzen Match and $18.00 was turned in. The September work day focused mainly on weed removal and placing new signs around the perimeter fence.
OLD BUSINESS: There is the possibility that Mesa County Government may begin to make some progress on the trash and junk on our southwest border. The old shed has been completely removed and Eric Kjeldgaard plans to remove the steel post but to keep the telephone pole where it is, and the small target shed is to remain where it is, but to be better anchored from the wind. There needs to be leveling of the area where the old shed was, and new gravel put down. The carbon monoxide detector in the Club House continues to malfunction and we may need better ventilation of the battery container. Only 1 rifle remains of the Club’s target rifles and interested members should make an offer. The Public Sight In days are coming up on the first week end of October. Volunteers are needed to help and to pass out flyers at various places.
NEW BUSINESS: The Colorado State High School Rodeo Association used our rimfire rifle range with 19 shooters. This group may want to use the range in future years and hopefully will give the Club a more advanced request to do so. The new Cameo Shooting Range is developing a fee schedule for use of the Range and it seams it will be more expensive than membership in the OMGC.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Members the Meeting was adjourned at 8:16 PM by the Vice President.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeff Howard, Secretary
