ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING

March 19, 2019

 

CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard. There were 15 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

MINUTES: The Minutes of the February 2019 Meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.

TREASURERS REPORT: The Treasurers report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve the Report. A copy is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.

CORESPONDENCE: None.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: There were 12 shooters at the March Postal Rim Fire Bench Rest Match and $36.00 was turned in to the Club.

OLD BUSINESS: We have not contacted the company to spray for weeds yet. It was moved, seconded and passed to allocate up to $1,000.00 for this spraying. It was moved, seconded and passed following discussion to allocate $1,000.00 for gravel and blading of existing gravel for this year. The Club’s participation in the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Outdoor Heritage Day at River Bend Park in Palisade will be a BB gun shooting range. Two BB guns are available and the 4H portable range will be utilized. Targets will be furnished by the Club. It was moved, seconded and passed to donate $100.00 to the Town of Palisade. The Caprock amended Conditional Use Permit was approved by the Mesa County Commissioners allowing them to build a residence for developmentally disabled clients on property adjacent to our property. The Commissioners did approve certain stipulations to the Permit and the Club and other Springfield Estates property owners will be negotiating with Caprock. Copies of the Approval, stipulations and a Daily Sentinel article regarding this issue are attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Club has confirmation of the filing of Form 990-N with the IRS regarding our tax exempt 501c-4 status for the 2018 tax year. It is attached to and made a part of these Minutes. We will soon file for Property Tax Exemption with Mesa County. The Club has an agricultural Burn Permit from Mesa County for 2019. The batteries for the solar powered lighting in the Club House are working better now that it is warmer.

NEW BUSINESS: The upcoming March Work Day will focus on putting up the Flag Pole, moving sand from the old Target Shed footprint, burning weeds and old wood, rebuilding target holders, and taking trash barrels to the Land Fill. It will begin at 9:00 AM.

ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members the Meeting was adjourned at 8:34 PM by the President.
