ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
January 21, 2020
CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard. There were 9 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the December 2019 Meeting were read and approved as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: The Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve the Report. The Report is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.
CORESPONDENCE: A letter from the NRA announced that Life Memberships are discounted to $750.00 if paid in full until February 18, 2020. This will be posted on the Club’s web site.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: The Audit Committee will meet January 28, 2020 at 6:00 PM.
OLD BUSINESS: At the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors a proposal from the 4H Shooters for the creation of an archery range on Club property was approved. It will be approximately 60 yards wide and 90 yards long. It will be used by the 4H archers from late March to late August. OMGC members may use this range at times 4H is not using it. No broad heads may be used on any of the target backers. There is a vacancy on the Board of Directors, and it must be filled by a past President, the two members qualified to fill this vacancy will be consulted. Refinishing of the exterior of the Club House will be a project the Club undertakes and will try to get grant money to assist with this. The printing cost for the Club’s business cards exceeded the approved cost of $200.00 by $23.48. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve the extra expense. The batteries for the solar light system in the Club House have been replaced. The shooting calendar for 2020 has been finished and will soon be printed. It will be placed on the Club’s web site and in the March Newsletter. The Club will try other measures for weed control on our ranges including burning, mowing, and possibly renting goats. The test plot of buffalo grass will be done this Spring. Steel for mounting the new range sign was discussed. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve $300.00 for this project.
NEW BUSINESS: The March Newsletter will contain the new gate combination and will be mailed to all active members. The new combination will take effect April 2, 2020. Inactive members will not get the new combination in their newsletter, and not get it until they renew their yearly membership. The annual Outdoor Heritage Day in Palisade sponsored by Colorado Parks and Wildlife is April 25, 2020. The Club has provided a BB gun shooting range in the past. Art Bennett will attend the planning meeting for this. It was moved, seconded and passed for the Club to donate $250.00 in Russ Weber’s name to some charity. His wife, Pat, will be contacted to determine where the donation should go.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members the Meeting was adjourned at 8:31 PM by the President.
