ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
February 21, 2023
CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Jonathan Kobylarz. There were 7 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the January 2023 Meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: The Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded, and passed to approve the Report. A copy of the Report is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.
CORESPONDENCE: The Club received a letter from Bretski Land LLC inquiring if the Club is interested in selling our property for an unspecified amount. It is attached to and made a part of these Minutes. We received a letter and donation of $300.00 from a Club member.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: The Audit Committee submitted it’s Report for 2022. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve the Report. A copy of the Report is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.
OLD BUSINESS: Following discussion it was moved, seconded and passed for the Club to Join the Colorado State Shooting Association. Art Bennett, our Treasurer will follow up with getting this done. The 2023 Club Calendar will be printed soon. It will also be in the Club Newsletter planned to be mailed around March 13, 2023. In further discussion on replacing the outside of the Club House it was decided to get information on materials and their cost and to have an outside contractor do the job.
NEW BUSINESS: A notice to members in the Newsletter breaks down the yearly insurance cost per member of $22.70, about 45.4% of a member’s yearly dues, for a membership of 250. We need to update our Club Map on the website. There was discussion on getting a grant for construction of a trap range on Club property and working with Colorado Mesa University on construction. We need to change the New Member Application to instruct the applicant to print the Associate Member’s name.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM by the President.
